Invest in co-operative assets

I finally resigned from our Membership Council over sell-offs. I and many others are and have been exercised about an attempt to sell the very best retail site on Lisburn Road, where some of Ulster’s most affluent as well as some really Thinking people shop. In the end the sale fell through.

The store is still trading with the old livery and some of the poorest display equipment around. I’m constantly asked what is happening there. It is a hugely bad advertisement for Coop, but ‘too expensive to upgrade’.

Truly astonishing.
